21.11.16 A positive boost for business, at Aeon Gulf we were pleased to read the recent news that The Kuwait Authority for Partnership Projects has scheduled the tender for public bidding for a major railway project for the second half of 2017.

This represents an exciting development for Kuwait and the wider GCC region, set to link Kuwait City to the airport, marine ports and the Saudi border over 511km of two-way tracks.

The project will be implemented under a build, operate, transfer agreement and will transport both passengers and cargo at speeds of 120-200kmh, creating a wealth of opportunities for companies who are successful in the bid.

Under the original schedule on the Partnerships Technical Bureau website, the issuance of expressions of interest was planned for Q2 of 2016, followed by requests for quotation in Q3 and a requests for proposal in Q4.

Despite changes to the timeframe, positive changes are imminent and improvements to Kuwait’s transport and infrastructure can only be good for companies looking to invest in the country.

Continually improving and evolving as a business hub, Kuwait is gradually opening its doors to organisations around the globe seeking a presence in the oil rich nation.

We are sure that business opportunities in Kuwait will further open up for companies setting up, looking for strategic business partners/silent shareholders or commercial agency agreements that help support the country’s long-term status as an attractive hub for business in Middle East and global markets.
